Medicinal
uses:
This herb is pungent, hot, carminative,
hypoglycaemic, aphrodisiac, anti-inflammatory,
uterine contractor, mild laxative and lactogenic
herb. It is used in fever, diabetes,
arthritis, and flatulence. Trigonella
enhances breast milk in a feeding mother.
The seeds and leaves of the herb are anticholesterolemic,
anti-inflammatory, antitumor, carminative,
demulcent, deobstruent, emollient, expectorant,
febrifuge, galactogogue, hypoglycaemic,
laxative, parasiticide, restorative and
useful in burning sensation.
Uses as home remedy:
Its Laddu preparation is widely used by
females after her delivery. This herb is
beneficial to cure her indigestion,
loss of appetite and arthritis during postpartum.
It is also useful in a postpartum female
to increase the breast milk.
Its seeds should be taken along with jaggery
or water to cure obstruction of
the urine. |
